How To Enhance Your Look Through Makeup

Make up does not necessarily mean for special occasions. You can also use its power to enhance your facial features. You could be running some errands, meeting up with friends, going to school or office, shopping or basically you can apply it any time you want.

Excited?! But don't know how to start?? Well, I will show you some simple tips and tricks.

1. Apply face primer or base (optional). This makes the foundation and concealer smoother, last longer, not sink into some fine lines (if any) and help it to not breakdown throughout the day. Some people would skip this step. But I would suggest to do this during special occasions or when applying heavy makeup to make it stay longer and avoid smudges.

2. Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone. Apply it over the central part of your face, and move your way out. Don't go against your hairline when applying and don't forget to blend until it covers your entire face. Also avoid streaky marks. Tip: Apply a sheer amount, the lesser the better.

3. Apply a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation. Put small dots over any blemishes and skin redness especially on the side of your nose or under eye dark circles and blend.

#Tip: Some people would like to skip concealer if foundation is enough to cover their imperfections or vice versa. Apply according to preference.

4. Use a loose or pressed powder to set the foundation and the concealer. Powder makes the foundation and concealer last longer. Do touch ups when you're away from home.

5. Brush/comb your eyebrows and define.

#Tip: For blonde-haired beauties eyebrow color should be two to three times darker than your hair color. For brunettes it should be two to three times lighter and for dark-haired beauties you could go for gray, ash, almost black and even deep brown shades.

6. Curl your lashes. (Optional: If desired, you can also heat the metal curler for a more defined curl. Make sure to not overheat.) Curling your lashes opens up your eyes and emphasizes them. This makes them look wider, brighter and longer.

#Tip: Never curl lashes after you apply the mascara because as mascara dries, lashes can stick to the curler and be torn from the roots. Ouch! That hurts.

7. Apply mascara in a zigzag or wiggling motion. This separates the hairs from your lashes to avoid clumping. Apply two coats of mascara on your lashes. Mascara highlights, dramatizes, and make your lashes look more luscious.

#Tip: For thin lashes use a volumizing mascara.

8. Apply blush for rosy cheeks. And don't forget to smile while doing so.

Tip: To make the blush look more natural you can wipe out the excess powder using a tissue but take note to do it gently.

9. Finish the look with a cute lip color. Add lip gloss if desired.

Makeup is meant to be fun and experimental. So you go girl! Have fun and be amazed by the looks you created.
