At Gatineau, Quebec, thirty minutes away from home, I realized. "Gosh, I forgot the DSLR!"
Blame it on my auto-pilot tendencies. With all the emotions I could muster, I told my husband -- who was focused on the road by the way -- how it was already on the door. But when I head out, coat on my left arm, bag on the right shoulder, and house keys in hand, it escaped my thought process.
I could have published better-looking photos for you. Nah, too late now.
This is the coat I'm talking about. It's still available in Zara. Click here. I'd love to get it in black too.
Dining
We had our lunch at Fat Mardis. If a location is a tourist attraction, it is understood that food will be expensive. I'm okay with that so long as the presentation is good, the service is nice and the taste is appetizing. This one is a hit.
Yes, the food tastes good I can't stop commenting even after we left. I highly recommend the chicken wings with fries. Our son, who had a tantrum while we were still in the queue, wouldn't eat. Apparently, he wanted to take the cable car ride before doing anything else. Hmmph...
He kept complaining and annoying us to go. Ugh... We came up with lies about how we needed to eat first before they'd sell us a ticket to the Panoramic Gondola. Haha. Nope, that didn't work.
Eventually, he took a bite after my many attempts to put food in his mouth. After that, he abandoned his resolve and start eating. How can you say no to good food? It's a blessing to be able to sit down and have a nice meal together with the family at any restaurant, expensive or not. When in a not-so-distant past, I was so dirt poor I couldn't even buy a Mcdonald's meal. lol.
Cable Car Ride
This sure is a fun experience for the whole family. Love the fall colors all around.
Adults pay $25.95 CAD each while our son, who is five, is at $10.95 CAD. See pricing details here. Actually, you pay less when you buy online. Why is that? When you buy walk-in, you pay for the person behind the booth.
And oh, the cable car ride services in winter too. I bet it would be magical. Though, the ticket price costs more. But it would be an experience of a lifetime. I mean, I've taken cable car rides to Genting Highlands, Malaysia, Sentosa, Singapore, Ocean Park, Hongkong and they are all amazing. (Wish Cebu, Philippines had one at Tops.) But this time, the view will be winter white and that's different from what I've had before. Of course, I'd love to go back in winter.
