Review: Nivea Pure & Natural Organic Aloe Vera Moisturizing Day Care

Seven years ago (wow, I'm still blogging to this day), I did a review of the Nivea Creme. I notice my mom using this on her face during my growing-up days so I gave it a try.

Unfortunately, it leaves my skin greasy. It's too thick. And it doesn't suit Singapore's hot and humid weather at all. (Yep, I did my first review of the Nivea Creme back when I was still living in Singapore.)

Still, I'm curious about the hype behind Nivea moisturizers. Many in the beauty community love it. A woman in her 50's or 60's swore by it. Her review read, "I used it since I was a teenager and it works."

To me, that sounds like a great product. And just like them, I too wanted to say, "I love Nivea's moisturizing cream."

Now that I live in Canada, I wanted to give the brand another chance. Singapore only has two seasons: dry and wet. This time, I wanted to see how it applies to Canada's cold climate.

For this review, I bought a different moisturizing cream from the brand called the Nivea Pure & Natural Organic Aloe Vera Moisturizing Day Care. (Note: This post is not sponsored.)

What I Thought

Unlike the Original Creme, Nivea's Pure & Natural Organic Aloe Vera Moisturizing Day Care costs more. Still, it is on the affordable side.

The first time you open the tub, the moisturizer appears like a thick lotion. When applied it leaves a white film on the face. It has a rich and creamy texture. And because of that, the product takes time to blend.

I wouldn't recommend this if you're in a hurry. (Wait, do people still rush to go somewhere these days?)

Anyway...

How it applies is just like applying sunscreen on the face. Yep, it takes time.

From my experience, the best time to apply this cream is during the dry, cooler months. It's not a summer product for me. On hot days, the product just sits on my face and feels greasy. For reference, I have combination skin.

The size is travel-friendly, light, and easy to pack.

In summary

I don't hate the product, nor do I like it. It's in between. But in terms of moisturizing, oh yes, it works well. Amazingly well. I use this during my winter walks in the neighborhood. Even after being exposed to the Canadian cold, my skin still feels soft and smooth. In my books, that's great moisturizing right there.

This moisturizer has aloe vera and argan oil. One of the benefits of the former is to lighten blemishes, on the other hand, the latter helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks. With this information on hand, I also apply this to my stretch-mark-laden mommy belly and upper thighs.

No, I'm not expecting radical results down there. So as long as it does its job moisturizing, then it's all good.

Have you tried the Nivea Pure & Natural Organic Aloe Vera Moisturizing Day Care? How do you find it?
