Unboxing the Fasbruy at-Home IPL Hair Removal Device

Are you looking to be hair-free for the rest of your life? Of course, not everywhere. But only in specific areas we don't want them.

For years and years, I've been plucking and shaving the unwanted hairs in my body. I also apply a hair removal cream. Check out my product review of the Veet Hair Removal Cream here.

And paid professional services for six months. (I'm aware. It's recommended to go for 12-months straight before seeing the desired results. And then go back again for maintenance after that. If need be.)

In all honestly, I couldn't afford it in the long run. Thus, I stop going to save myself from financial collapse. This was many years ago. I was single, working abroad in Singapore (story here), and three paychecks away from bankruptcy.

Since I took an abrupt stop from professional treatment, my unwanted hair situation didn't get any better. They remain as thick and dense as it has been 10 years ago. By the way, I have black hair with light brown skin.

Uhm, should we be talking about something so private?

If this is an area you're conscious about. Why not? It's has been for me. I avoid wearing camisoles, tanks, or sleeveless tops every time discernable hair growth sprout it's way from the pores. Let's face it. It's tedious to use a tweezer. And those pesky hairs grow overnight using the shave.

Sure, there are women out there (bless their hairless genes) who are fortunate enough they don't have to spend so much time getting rid of unwanted hairs. I have this college classmate who told me just that. They were not a hairy family. I was jealous. What's more? She's born with a pretty face too. Life is unfair. 😜

Anyway, since Covid-19, we now have loads of extra time at home. I thought, "Hey, why don't I do the at-home IPL hair removal treatment?" I did a google search. And browse the products available on Amazon.

There were many options to choose from and yes, it's confusing. I would have wanted to get this. It's from a trusted brand and often mentioned as one of the best in the market.

But then again, my budget-conscious pocket objects. I had to look for something reasonable with great reviews and selling like hotcakes.

That's how I landed with the Fasbruy at-Home IPL Hair Removal Device.

What's included in the Box?

  • The IPL hair removal device
  • Power plug. Nope, it's not battery powered.
  • Razor
  • Googles to protect your eyes from the pulse light.
  • Instruction manual
  • And a gift certificate. (The thank you card in the photo above).

Here's how the unit looks up close. Notice the small fluorescent tube at the center of the device? That's where the light is emitted.

I've now used this at-home IPL device twice before this post goes public. I place the unit 90 degrees from my underarm just as instructed.

Out of the 5 light-intensity levels, I set it to the lowest setting during my first try and adjust to a higher intensity in my next sessions, according to my comfort level. Note: Use the same intensity level per session.

The light only pulses when it contacts the skin. I was caught by surprise when it did during my first time. Thankfully, I had the goggles on for protection.

The IPL device holds comfortably in my hand. It's not heavy at all. No problem. Since it doesn't take long for you to do this anyway.

I only use this on my underarms so I could wear pretty sleeveless tops this coming summer. I will move to other areas once I see the results I'm looking for in my targeted area.

Are there areas in your body you want hairless? What methods do you apply to get rid of the unwanted hairs? Will you consider using the Fasbruy at-home IPL Hair device?
