3 Gleanings from the Book

Here are 3 of my favorite gleanings from the book.

  • A blog is ultimately a way of marketing yourself and in order to effectively do that, you need to find your voice and stay true to yourself.
  • The thing that I have to keep reminding myself is that no matter where I fall on the spectrum of good to bad bloggers, there will always be at least one person who is interested in my story.

On Partnerships and Collaborations

  • Do not be willing to compromise your opinions based on what a brand or large company wants you to portray to your readers. Always be upfront and honest about this with the brand you’re working with right off the bat. If you lose the trust of your readers, you lose everything. Stay true to yourself and always be honest with your audience. Don’t sell them on something that you wouldn’t purchase yourself.

Book Review

I like the cover of this book. It's so girly girl. Obviously, her target audience is women interested in lifestyle blogging. The author has a friendly writing style. It's an easy read. The topic is what it is, basic blogging 101.

This may not be the book you're looking for if you're a pro. Even though I've been blogging for years now, I'm still able to get something out of it. It never hurts to get reminded of the basics.

Plus it's just 107 pages long. You could finish it in one sitting. But I had to admit, you can read these tips on the internet too.

Rating: 4/5

The author especially encourages fellow bloggers to join a community, attend events, and make friends with like-minded individuals. This way you'll be able to increase your blog's awareness besides gaining tips and ideas from successful bloggers you have gone before you.

If you're someone planning to start a blog and felt overwhelmed by the tasks ahead or maybe you've been doing it for years but couldn't understand why you've plateaued.
