Review: ELF Regular & Waterproof Mascara Duo

"Wow, this mascara only costs $1 USD?", I was grinning. I'm definitely getting this. Gosh, it's only a dollar why not?

Okay, let me tell you a bit about my background, on why I reacted that way for a dollar worth of mascara. I grew up in the Philippines, branded makeup is expensive. Yes, ELF Cosmetics is expensive back there. This may be relative but most can't afford it. I know, because I can't back then.

If I'm not mistaken, an ELF mascara costs 3 - 5 times more than a home-cooked meal. Why would I spend on cosmetics when I have my stomach to worry about right? That's how it used to be for me.

Now, that we relocated to the US, our economic conditions are way better. And the costs of drugstore cosmetics are cheaper than food. Truthfully, I'm grateful to have experienced what I can't before. :D

Product Review

Pros

• The ELF Regular & Waterproof Mascara Duo is unbelievably cheap. I paid $1 USD for this at Walmart.
• It's a 2-in-1 mascara. One end is waterproof while the other is a regular mascara.
• Lasts long. The waterproof mascara works as claimed.

Cons

• The product is clumpy and a bit firm.
• I'm don't know why but had a hard time applying it to my lashes. It could be its small bristles. I had to do it many times before seeing results.
• The product sticks together and smears.

Hmm... not much of a difference huh!

It didn't do much at all. Well, it didn't claim to thicken the lashes, what did I expect? Although I like that it's waterproof and lasts long, it didn't look like I wore anything. I don't think I'll be buying this mascara again. Yes, even if it's worth a dollar.

Also, I haven't noticed the ELF Regular & Waterproof Mascara Duo online, perhaps it's discontinued? Anyway, below are other mascara products from ELF. You might like to check them out.
