A Winning Brand by Kraig Kleeman Book Review

No Branding, No Growth

Okay, what I'm going to say next is hard to swallow (at least for me). I need to internalize this first, okay? ... Now, I'm ready!

The truth is, I've been blogging for many years now and branding never once did occur to me, not in all those years. And, well, my audience never grew!

I didn't know what I represent so I fell for everything else.

"If you don't stand for anything,
you'll fall for everything."

Yup, that perfectly summarizes it!

5 Gleanings from A Winning Brand

  • Building your brand will be much easier if you evaluate who you are and remain true to that vision, rather than trying to contort yourself in an attempt to please everyone.
  • People can sense authenticity, and they can sense its lack as well. Part of being bold is embracing your individuality. Your brand is a promise you have to be able to live up to.
  • As you build your brand, make sure that it’s something you can live up to so that you will find it easy to stay consistent.
  • Think about how you want to be recognized, and make sure your content is in keeping with that theme.
  • Only post content that you and your audience will care about.

More Questions to Ask if You Want to Build a Winning Brand

  • Determine what you want to be known for that is consistent with your talents?
  • What do people tend to expect from you when they hire you or ask for your input?
  • What activities make you feel confident when you engage in them?
  • What abilities reliably yield positive results for you?

Take a personal inventory of yourself. Solicit and ask your family/friends/people who know you best on what they think your strengths are.

"Discover Originality.
Find something that identifies your brand."

A Winning Brand Book Review

The Winning Brand is a short read. It is a must for someone desiring to build/grow their personal brand.

I would have never thought about the idea of branding had I not read this book. I admit with having no focus, no mastery, no area of expertise.

As a result, the efforts I've put into my blog are in vain. Hard to accept but I've seen no growth whatsoever after all those years. Sad but true!

RATING: 4/5.

In Conclusion

Overall, it's an insightful read! I highly recommend it!
Because I've read it, it got me to rethink my focus and strategies moving forward. Thanks, Kraig Kleeman!
