5 Reasons Why You Need to Use a Rug Pad

I can't believe it. It'll be one month since we move into our new home. Yay! I'm notorious for posting areas in our home that are not fully furnished. Well, some people like to show off works of progress whilst others like to wait till it's done.  I'm in the former group thus, expect updates soon. ;)

Here I'm going to talk about rug pads. After picking an entryway rug from Amazon, (we bought a Loloi rug in size 2' 6" x 12' see here), the hubby thought it was unnecessary to include a rug pad. Due to how affordable it is, he decided to add it to the cart. 'Twas mind-changing. lol.

"It's so comfortable. Nice to the feet, right?" Urging me to nod in agreement with his new discovery. In fact, he like it so much, he added one more for our living area.

5 Reasons Why You Need to Use a Rug Pad

Area rugs can add color, warmth, and texture to any room in your home. They are an excellent way to define a space, make a statement, and even protect your flooring. However, to get the most out of your area rugs, you need to use a rug pad.

Rug pads may not be the most exciting home accessory, but they are essential. In this article, we will explore the top five reasons why you need to use a rug pad under your area rugs. From added comfort and safety to increased longevity, we'll take a closer look at the many benefits of using a rug pad and why it's a smart investment for your home.

Here are some of the reasons why we need to use a rug pad:

1. Protection
Rug pads help to protect both the rug and the flooring underneath. They act as a barrier between the two and prevent the rug from slipping and sliding around, which can cause wear and tear over time.

2. Safety
Rug pads help to keep your rugs in place, which can reduce the risk of tripping or falling. This is especially important in high-traffic areas or in homes with young children or elderly residents.

3. Comfort
Rug pads add extra cushioning to your rugs, making them more comfortable to walk on. This can be especially beneficial for areas where people stand for long periods of time, such as in the kitchen or laundry room.

4. Soundproofing: Rug pads can help to reduce noise levels in your home by absorbing sound and vibrations. This can be especially useful if you have hardwood or tile flooring, which can be noisy without a rug pad.

5. Longevity: Rug pads can help to extend the life of your rugs by reducing wear and tear. They can also help to prevent stains from reaching the flooring underneath, which can be difficult to remove. Overall, using a rug pad is a simple and affordable way to protect your rugs and flooring, improve safety, and increase comfort in your home.
